Where are my podcast lovers at?! I am obsessed with listening to podcasts. Podcasts about parenting, marriage, business, personal growth, you name it and I want to listen to it. So I am sharing my top 5 favorite wedding planning podcasts just in case you're a podcast lover like me.
What the heck is a podcast?
Never heard of a podcast? That's OK, I didn't understand them for a long time myself but now I don't think I could live without them. So let me explain: a podcast is sort of like listening to talk radio, although WAY more interesting. Podcast hosts share their advice, tell stories and interview others around the topic of their specific podcast. Think of it like a blog post that you can listen to on your phone or computer.
The greatest benefit is that you can listen on demand when it's convenient for you on your computer or phone through apps like itunes, stitcher or spotify (among others). You don't have to purchase a membership to listen in. I use the free version of Spotify and it has worked great for me over the years. Tune in and listen to episodes when you are commuting to and from work, at the gym or just around the house while you do chores.
Be prepared to become addicted!
Most of my conversations start with: "so I was listening to this podcast..." My friends typically giggle, some make fun ("oh you and your podcasts") but I don't care. Every time I listen to a podcast I learn something new or gain some insight. It's a great way to learn new hacks, tips, tricks or even change your perspective on a particular topic (like planning your wedding). I really wish podcasts like these were around when I was planning my wedding. I could have used all the advise!
Let's face it wedding planning is a beast to tackle. There are so many little details to coordinate, organize, purchase and plan. It's one of the most exciting times in your life but it's also A LOT! That's why I am sharing my top 5 favorite wedding planning podcasts with you today. These podcasts are FULL of helpful advise, wedding etiquette, the latest trends, and even hilarious wedding stories that will make you cry you'll be laughing so hard. They cover every wedding planning topic under the sun.
My hope is that they make wedding planning a little less stressful, maybe even lots of fun! Don't approach listening to these podcasts as another "wedding task," rather think of it as a fun activity, like flipping through a bridal magazine or scrolling through Pinterest but this one you can listen to on your way to and from work or while you're hitting the gym and sweating for the wedding! You never know what little nugget you might gain from listening. That's what makes them so addicting, right?!

My Top 5 Favorite Wedding Planning Podcasts
The bridechilla podcast is run by Aleisha. She speaks her mind and doesn't hold back which I personally find refreshing. She hates chair covers and calls herself your virtual bridesmaid. She does drop F bombs every now and then so if that isn't your thing you've been warned!
The Big Wedding Planning Podcast
This podcast is run by two wedding consultants, Christy and Michelle. They share their deepest, darkest secrets to planning your perfect big day. A few topics they cover include staying sane during the wedding planning process and breaking up with a vendor.
The One Fab Day podcast is run by editors Claire and Celina. They mix in real talk with inspiration for your wedding day. They post new podcasts weekly so there is always something fresh for you to dig into.
Hosts Danielle and Daniel are a wedding photographer and wedding planner. They call their podcast the "anti-boring wedding planning podcast" and I couldn't agree more. With topics such as things your guests won't care about, to micro-weddings and small details you don't want to forget, they cover loads of interesting and important topics.
I had to toss this one in for fun because lets face it, we should all laugh a little more especially when you're planning a wedding. So take some time to listen in as the hosts share outrageous, but true, wedding stories. It's full of gossip, drama and bridezillas!
